This week on our Scrubs & Beyond Facebook page we asked a question to get to know our customers better: In what medical field do you work? We received numerous responses and a large number of jobs. Here is a sampling:
“I work as a volunteer at the nursing home where my grandma is living. They didn’t have any full or part time jobs available, but I just couldn’t leave my grandma there alone. So I asked them if they needed any volunteers. Now, i get to see my grandma 4 days a week, and I even get to do BINGO for them! I love it! I’m working on getting my nursing degree so I can be more hands on with the patients. And I definitely want to work with the elderly.”– J.J.
“I am an RN is a Level 1 Trauma Center and wouldn’t have it any other way!”– Alex P.
“I am a Dental Assistant student.I am getting ready to start my internship.”– Alycia T.
“Been an LPN almost 26 years work night shift in long-term care. Our facility takes long term ventilator patients and does in-house hemodialysis.”– Tara J.
“I’m a CNA. I work private duty and also for a home health company I will be 73 in August I have been working in the healthcare field since 1960 I went to work as a home health aide at the age of 15 and a half and I am working now full time I love my work and I love taking care of people.”– Delores M.
“I’m a phlebotomist and I love my job as we are saving lives everyday.”– Christina S.
“CNA for 15 years, I truly love what I do and it all started because of my Grandmother. She showed me what it was like and meant to care and take care if others. We spent many Sunday afternoons going and visiting when I was a small child. From then on I knew it was meant to be, currently beginning classes for Occupational Therapy Asst.”– Kelley G.
“I work in a long-term care facility as a memory support nurse. I lost my great grandfather, grandmother, and three great aunts to dementia. Helping those with dementia is very near and dear to my heart. I love my job.”– Sheri W.
“I work as an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist at an autism pediatric therapy clinic. Working in this field with autistic children is so rewarding.”– Tezna R.
“I work with a variety of patients in a skilled nursing facility. Some long term care, some recovering from surgery and seeking a variety of therapies.”– Becky S.
“I’m a private duty nurse.”– Patricia P.
“Respiratory therapist, also work in the sleep lab!”– Lissa R.
“The best field EVER!! Radiology!! I’m a Radiology Technologist!!”– Crystal P.
“Respiratory therapist!! Saving lives one breath at a time.”– JaQuitta R.
“Nursing school, graduating in 30 days! And I currently work as a tech in the ED.”– Addy D.
“I am an RN and Diabetic Educator. I work in Home Health and it’s truly a calling!”– Stephanie T.
